Wheelies: Reminder that shoes with wheels will not be tolerated in school. If your child is caught using the wheels, they will be asked to take the wheels out or put on their gym shoes. Just a friendly reminder that this is a safety concern for your child and for others. Thank you for your cooperation.
Field Trips: Lots of field trips are just around the corner. A couple of reminders beforehand from the handbook: Students must be in good standing, both academically and in their behavior to attend. Children MUST ride the bus to and from the field trip. Parents who wish to transport their children after the field trip must sign waivers. The teachers will have these. Students leaving a field trip PRIOR to 1:00 P.M. will be counted as ½ day absent. Siblings or other children are NOT to attend as the trip is for the students at that grade level.
ES Field Day: Next Friday, May 12th the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th graders will arrive to the Jeff West Tiger Stadium by 10:30 AM. They will finish up by 12:45 PM and head back to the school for lunch. Kindergarten and 1st grade will arrive to the stadium after lunch by 1:00 PM and be back at the school by 2:45 PM to pack up and get ready to head home. Please apply sunscreen BEFORE school! Family members must sign in at the north entrance behind the bleachers. Water and snacks will be provided.
Country Store: Please remember Country Store as a place you can donate items your children no longer (or never did) play with. We are currently in need of items we can price at a “higher ticket cost”, these would include items that when purchased new would be $5-$10-$15+. Art supplies/kits, Craft kits, Slime kits, Barbie Doll or American Doll accessories, Larger trucks, larger dinosaurs/creatures, large stuffed animals (we wash prior to placing for sale), sports balls, anything KU, K-State, or Chiefs. “Pop-its” and other fidget toys or Pokémon items. Thank you for your continued support, we could not provide Country Store without your donations.
Medication Reminder for the End of the School Year:
- The school cannot keep medication over the summer.
- All medication must be picked up prior to the last day of school or the parent or guardian must make arrangements if the medication cannot be picked up.
- Any medication not picked up by the end of the school year will be destroyed.
