----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------“Ruby Bridges Walk to School Day”: Governor Kelly has proclaimed November 14th, 2023 as Kansas "Ruby Bridges Walk to School Day." The Jefferson West Elementary Students and staff will do a remembrance walk Friday November 18th to start their day. We will do a short walk down Main Street and back to the school. Please send coats, hats, and gloves if the weather turns cold. Thank you for your support in the first Kansas Ruby Bridges Walk.
Cookie Dough/Booster Club Assembly: THE RESULTS ARE IN!! This assembly is scheduled to follow immediately after the “Ruby Bridges Walk to School Day”; at approximately 8:40ish. Feel free to join us for the walk at 8:15 a.m. and then in the elementary gym for the announcement of the winners! This is a HUGE deal, and we would love to celebrate with our families!
Headphone Request: We are seeing a rapidly increasing need for headphones. Please get with your student (especially 2nd graders) to make sure theirs are still working properly. We thank you in this matter of ensuring your student is prepared to learn each day.
Note from Nurse Abby: We are seeing an increase in absences due to illness. Please remember to clean your child's water bottle. If they have a cold, work with them on how to blow their nose with a Kleenex to get rid of mucus. Change out items such as toothbrushes when your child has been ill. Rest, hydration, healthy eating habits, and exercise help children fight colds and illnesses they will be exposed to.
Harvester’s Update: Great news!! We have more BackSnacks available than what we were anticipating! If you would like your child to receive a BackSnack each Friday, please call the school so we can get them added to the list. Thank you!
