School Closing Announcements: Every attempt will be made to notify the public by 6:30 A.M. if school is to be closed or opening delayed. Only on rare occasions will school close early. When school is closed, a Skylert will be sent to parents and guardians. The following radio and TV stations will be notified.
Television: Channels 13, 27 and 49. Radio: WIBW-AM 580, WIBW-FM 94.5, KMAJ-AM 1440 and KMAJ-FM 107.7.
Coach David Bowen will be providing baseball practice to any age boys on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:30-5:30 at $35/session. Sessions can be individual or up to groups of three. Please contact Mammoth to set up your sessions at 785-484-2326. If you have any further questions, please contact Coach Bowen at david.bowen@usd340.org.
JWBA is ready to register for the upcoming baseball/softball/t-ball season. Please see flyer sent home with your child.
Any day your child is absent, please notify the office by 9:00 A.M., stating the reason he or she is not in school. If proper notification is not received by 9:00 A.M. the student will receive an unexcused absence for that day. A student is considered tardy if they are not in the school building by 8:00 A.M. In accordance with state law, truancy is three days in a row, five days in a semester, or seven days in a school year of unexcused absences. Students considered truant are reported to the Department for Children and Families and the Jefferson County Attorney.
Jeff West continues to offer COVID testing at the football stadium. Please see email sent out on 1/19/2022 from Mr. Happer and Nurse Abby for updated guidance.

Due to COVID: 1. We are not using the drinking fountains. Please send your child/children with a refillable water bottle. We have filling stations available.
2. Students will only be allowed to ride their assigned bus(s).
