MORE INFO FROM MRS. BEVITT: Hello! Our school is participating in a creative fundraiser with Art to Remember that allows you to purchase keepsake products customized with your child's art. There are over 50 products and many are less than $15. These make great gifts and a percentage of every purchase goes right back to our school. ORDER FORMS WENT HOME THIS WEEK with your student's name and student code.
You can visit https://arttoremember.com/school/TUWVU9 and search for your child’s name or enter the student code found on your student's personalized order form. The artwork will be saved in a digital family gallery. All orders will be placed online this year and the order deadline is March 28, 2022. If you do not have access to place an online order, I will be available in the JWES Art room on Thursday, March 10, from 3:30-6:00 to allow you to place orders from there. National School Breakfast Week: March 7-11. It’s a great time to try out school breakfast! Studies show that students who eat school breakfast are more likely to reach higher levels of achievement in reading and math, score higher on standardized tests, have better concentration and memory, are more alert, and maintain a healthy weight. A nutritious breakfast at the start of the day is a great way to ensure students are energized and ready to learn!
Kindergarten Round-Up/Screening: This will take place on April 5th and 12th. This is for children who will be five years old on or before August 31, 2022. Please call the elementary school at 785-484-2455 if you have a child that will be in Kindergarten for the 2022-2023 school year. Sign-Up information for Roundup will be sent the middle of March.
State-Wide Tornado Drill: Tuesday, March 8th at 10:00 a.m. Please take this opportunity to speak with your child about tornado safety, ensure your emergency kits are stocked with up-to-date supplies and review your home emergency plan.
Due to COVID: 1. We are not using the drinking fountains. Please send your child/children with a refillable water bottle. We have filling stations available.
2. Students will only be allowed to ride their assigned bus(s).
