Short Elementary Trip: The elementary kiddos will be walking to the Middle School on Thursday, December 8th to watch the Charlie Brown play. We will be leaving at approximately 8:15 AM and will not be returning until appx 9:45 AM. If you have an apt, and will be late, please come to the elementary to sign in your student, but they will then need to be transported to the middle school for the play. Thank you for your help!
Note from Nurse Abby: As parents, we try to balance our children’s rest, nutrition, exercise as well as teaching them to wash their hands and cover their cough-just to name a few. At school we also encourage these healthy choices. Sometimes children get sick in spite of all the precautions we take. Please keep your child home if they are ill, and call the school office by 9:00 AM to let us know. This winter has brought flu, covid-19, and RSV, as well as many other germs we don’t want to share with our teachers and classmates.
December 20th Reminder: This is a half day of school, and students will dismiss at 11:45. Please have transportation lined up and ready for your child if they are a car rider. Thank you, in advance, for being proactive in this matter.
In case of inclement weather: Please be watching for School Closing Announcements. Every attempt will be made to notify the public by 6:30 A.M. if school is to be closed or opening delayed in the morning. Only on very rare occasions will school close early. When school is to be closed or delayed, the following radio and TV stations will be notified: Radio, WIBW-AM (580), WIBW-FM (94.5), KMAJ-AM (1440), KMAJ-FM (107.7). Television stations: Channels 13, 27, and 49. In order for you to receive Skylert messages from the school, please make sure that the office has your current contact information.
Christmas Food Drive: JWES is holding their Christmas food drive to benefit God’s Storehouse from November 28th through December 16th. Please bring nonperishable food items to the Elementary School. Share what you can.
