Have you ever paid a bill? Are you 18 or older? Would you like to have fun helping Sophomores and Juniors at Jefferson West High School and Eighth graders at Jefferson West Middle School practice finances?
YES? Then, please join us as a volunteer for Reality U's financial simulator at Jefferson West High School on Friday, February 21.
What does it look like to volunteer? The students take a pre-survey of what they want their life to look like at 26 years old. When they arrive at Reality U, they will get a paycheck based on their survey and need to go pay their bills for the month! Volunteers will get to run a booth as a sales rep for housing, phone, transportation, and more! The booth info and training will be provided. We just need YOU!
Together, we get to help students connect their current education with their financial future! Please use the link below to sign up for one, two or all three time slots to volunteer at a booth. If you cannot volunteer but have a friend who would be perfect for this activity or would like to help, please share the link with them.

FEBRUARY 12 - Due to projected weather conditions, Jefferson West USD 340 will be closed, Wednesday, February 12. All events and activities are cancelled. This also applies to those students who attend Washburn Tech, Highland Tech, and TCALC.
The Jefferson West Education Foundation will be hosting a BBQ Fundraiser at the High School on Tuesday, February 11, 5:30-7:30pm. The $7-meal consists of a pulled pork sandwich, chips, cookie, and water. High School basketball games are being hosted that night as well vs. Sabetha. Game admission is $5/person (K-Adult). Make a night of it with a great meal and home basketball!

A stomach bug, strep and other illnesses have been reported in our schools. We are taking additional measures to stop the spread here at school and ask you to do the same at home. Ways to do this include covering your cough, washing hands, and staying home when ill. Students are required to stay home and may not return until 24 hours after fever, throwing up, or diarrhea free without the use of fever reducing medication. Reminder: we cannot medicate for symptoms of illness.

The Wild Robot Escapes by Peter Brown will be coming home with the kids tonight along with the reading schedule. The entire school will be reading it together and answering questions each morning about the reading from the previous evening. We are all excited for this new reading adventure!

USD 340 Board of Education came together with community members tonight to discuss one of their board goals - Facilities. Administration, members from the district leadership team, facilities team, and several patrons were in attendance while they discussed concerns about our facilities. They also discussed strategies on how to tackle each one of the concerns. On behalf of the Board of Education, we would like to thank you all for your time!
