We have some amazing photographers and these gals are the best. Week in and week out you will find them along the sidelines at Jefferson West sporting events. Their presence and photos are sweet gifts to all in the Jefferson West Community. We would be hard pressed to find a more dedicated fan. You are appreciated more than you know Judy McAsey Arnold and Stacey Beilman! Thank you from the Tigers!

Our Germany exchange program sponsors, Lisa Sage and Mark Farr, had the opportunity to interact with a lot of people and help our German guests experience everything from a tour of Topeka’s water treatment plant, which was incredibly informative and interesting, to a tour of the production line at Frito Lay, which resulted in lots of laughs, snacks, and Schlotzsky's lunch.
Our friends tried cactus and other food items from Mexican markets; had a photo opportunity with our Kansas Governor Laura Kelly; participated in our Homecoming parade; attended a Royals game; and so much more including our daily life enjoyments such as bonfires, flashlight tag, and karaoke, thanks to the Meyer family.
Some of the people who deserve a thorough “thank you” include: Nick Xidis at Hazel Hill Chocolate for an extraordinary personality, personal story with lesson, and chocolate; Angie and Emily Anderson and family at Cashmere Popcorn for delicious samples, patience, and warm welcome; Chrissy and Kysa Farrant at Boone & Bounty for delicious refreshments for our visitors; Melvin Lockhart for helping with transportation requests; colleagues Terry Stueve and Leslie Abbott for opening their classrooms to our German friends and providing memorable lessons; colleagues Blanche Wulfekoetter and Heather Roenne, who organized treats and refreshments; Carmelita and her coworkers at Frito-Lay, who treated us all to fun and food; Joey Filby at the Topeka Water Treatment Plant; knowledgeable and fun park rangers at the Brown vs. Board historic site; Travis Campbell, director at the Haskell Cultural Center & Museum; Capitol staff and Governor Laura Kelly; co-sponsor Mark Farr; coworker Michaela Conley for her art project; and the numerous families who hosted our visitors. A shout-out to the office ladies who were patient with our lunch count and attendance; Angie Grimmett (food service); and all of Jefferson West High School who opened their classrooms to visitors.
It was an extraordinary 10 days filled with a wide range of experiences! Thank you all...if we left someone out specifically, please know that we appreciate you!

Our 2025 Jefferson West Girls Golf Regional Champs and State Qualifiers were celebrated with an impressive sendoff Saturday morning with all the love and support from our incredible Jefferson West community and school district!
At 10am, the girls rolled out in style escorted by Jason Boyer and Dana Boyer, our beloved Meriden Police Officers leading the way! A huge thank you to our generous community businesses and individuals that donated everything from swag bags, golf gear to all kinds of fun goodies that filled their send-off bags! Your kindness and encouragement mean so much to these young athletes.
These young ladies, family members, and coaches are deeply grateful to everyone who came out this morning to cheer them on, wave posters, and show love from the sidelines. It’s moments like this that remind us what community spirit truly looks like.
A heartfelt thank you to the Jefferson West School District, Superintendent Dr. Brad Neuenswander, High School Principal Rhonda Frakes, teachers, Blanche Wulfekoetter, Michelle Deiter, and more staff and board members for their continued support of this incredible program.
And a very special thank-you to Village Greens Golf Course for having a beautiful and challenging course to afford these young athletes the ability to practice year round on their game. And last but certainly not least, our coaches, Darin Lawhorn and Larry Deiter for years of dedication, leadership, and passion in building this golf program into what it is today.
Lady Tigers….TAKE STATE!
