About our Principal
Mrs. Dooley
Welcome to Jefferson West Middle School!
I am so excited to serve as the principal for JWMS. This is the start of my 4th year here but it is my 18th year in education. Throughout my time in education I spent 10 years teaching in the classroom, I spent most of my time in 2nd and 3rd grade but did have a year in kindergarten and a year in 6th grade. I spent 4 years in Western Kansas as an Elementary Principal before moving back here. I grew up in Osage City, a small town south of Meriden.
I completed my Bachelor Degree from Wichita State in Elementary Education, a Master Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Peru State College and a Master Degree in Educational Leadership from Kansas State University.
In my free time I enjoy spending time with family and friends. My two children are actively involved in sports so that is where a lot of my free time goes. My husband and I enjoy traveling to the beach if it is my choice, the mountains if it is his! We also enjoy concerts and trying new foods.
I am very excited to serve this community, I am no stranger to the community as it is where my husband was born and raised. I always hoped we would be able to return and become a part of such a wonderful place. I truly believe relationships are the key to the success of every student. It is our job as educators to build those relationships and create a classroom where engagement, fun and learning can occur.
