Jefferson West FFA is in need of student volunteers next week to help at the upcoming Meriden Threshing Days. We need help with Parking vehicles and in the Chuckwagon kitchen at the Threshing grounds off of K-4 Highway. There are 2-hour time slots available starting at 8am-8pm, for July 18th and 19th, and 8am-2pm, July 20th. Students can work multiple times throughout the events. Please contact any Jefferson West FFA officer to schedule your times: Morgan Casto, Izzy Herring, Wyatt Kimberlin, Macy Malone, Braxdon Penry, or Jill Walder.
Jolene Bickel is in charge of the kitchen and is willing to feed kitchen workers. Also, anyone working in the kitchen, which is air conditioned, can have multiple hours counting toward community service.

A reminder to all staff, students, parents, and community members –
Monday, 6/30 through Sunday, 7/6 is Summer Moratorium per KSHSAA. There shall be NO school related athletic activities. During this time coaches (licensed teacher coaches and coach aides employed by member schools) are prohibited from engaging in any type of activity involving student athletes whether it be practice, training, weightlifting, conditioning, competition or travel. All Jefferson West USD 340 athletic facilities will be closed during this period to school personnel and students grades 7-12. If Jefferson West USD 340 athletic facilities also serve as non-school community recreation facilities, these facilities may remain open during the moratorium so long as no Jefferson West USD 340 teams are playing and no Jefferson West USD 340 coaches/coach aides are coaching the teams/individuals. During this one-week dead period, students may attend camps or competitions but may not do so with their school coaches. This moratorium does not impact fine arts or spirit activities.
