Last weekend Josey Dove took part in the NEKMEA (North East Kansas Music Educators Association) District Choir. She was one of 300 students selected to sing as part of this ensemble. She was also one of TWO students that was awarded the NEKMEA Scholarship. This award is given to students who are planning to pursue music education for their degree in college. Congratulation Josey!

November 22, 2021 Happy Thanksgiving Greetings, Jefferson West Families and Community: We hope this message finds you well! As we approach the Thanksgiving Break, we have been thinking about and are so thankful for the many successes of our students during this school year. They continue to make us so proud because of their focus, dedication, work ethic, and resiliency. In this season of reflection and gratitude, we wanted to take a moment to simply and sincerely say “Thank You!” for everything you have done, are doing, and will continue to do to help and support your children, our teachers, and our school community. As a service to our families and staff, we will provide a special covid test clinic for anyone that would like to get a covid test before Thanksgiving. This special covid test clinic will be held on Wednesday morning, November 24, 2021, from 7 AM to 9 AM at Jefferson West Elementary School in the school gym. Cheerleaders are going to State! Competition is this Saturday, November 20th at the Stormont Vail Event Center in Topeka. Gates open at 8 am and competition starts at 8:30 am. Price for admission is K-12: $11 and Adults: $16. Jeff West performance times are Band Chant (9:09 am), Fight Song (10:44 am), Crowd Leading (12:20 pm). Top 6 in 3A will be announced at 1:06 pm. Finals begin at 2:34 pm with Awards around 3:15 pm. The squad is scored on crowd engagement and involvement! They would love and appreciate your attendance and support!!! GOOD LUCK, LADIES!!!

Congratulations to Kierstyn Sutton as she has signed a letter of intent to play softball at Ellsworth Community College in Iowa Falls, IA. Kierstyn is the daughter of Josh and Whitney Sutton of Meriden.

HS Big 7 League Gate Fee Increase

Congratulations to Mallory Young as she has signed a letter of intent to play Softball at Butler Community College in El Dorado, KS. Mallory is the daughter of Scott Young (Valley Falls) and Melinda Young (Topeka).

The Jeff West HS Theatre will be performing "Medieval Upheaval" this weekend. Saturday - 7pm Sunday - 2pm Please come and support JW Theatre and enjoy a humorous show.

HS Parents: The Winter Sports Parent Meeting for HS Girls B'ball, HS Boys B'ball, HS Girls Wrestling, and HS Boys Wrestling is scheduled for Monday, Nov. 8th @ 7pm. This is an opportunity to meet with the coaching staff and learn about the expectations of the upcoming season.
