HS Lady Tigers Basketball Camp 2023! Next week Tuesday- Friday, 7/11-7/14, from 6-8 p.m. Late notice but hoping to get all available 2023-24 HS Lady Tiger basketball players

Parents and Guardians, This week you will find a consent form with a copy of an end of year student survey. Please sign this permission form if you want your child to participate & view the survey. It will be used so we can plan for next school year to be better for students!

At this time, the JWHS SADD club is conducting a training and educational event. Please do not be alarmed if you see emergency vehicles in the area of the Middle school and High school or if you see any posts on social media. There is no actual emergency at the high school, it is a simulation to help students make better choices.

May 1 is National Principal Day. We are thankful for our building leaders & their dedication to our students, staff and community. Thank you for all you do as a member of the Tiger Family. Please help us by thanking your principal and all our educators as we celebrate this week.

Make plans to attend the JW theater production of "Little Shop of Horrors" tonight at 7pm or Sunday at 2pm in the JW commons. The students have been working so hard and would love to see everyone there to support them! Come on out!

The SADD (Students Against Destructive Decisions) group met with Nurse Abby and SRO Dana Boyer to have a workshop luncheon. The presentation covered information about the dangers of drugs and alcohol and learning basic life saving tips. Thank you Abby and Dana!

Tiger community, Join us for Dinner and a Play on Saturday, March 25th. Dinner starts at 6 pm - the play begins at 7 pm. Those wanting to join us for dinner will need to rsvp with a text or call 785-554-9882 with the number in your party for dinner (payment will be collected at the door). If you cannot make it Saturday, there is a matinee Sunday, March 26th, at 2 pm. Make plans to attend one or both performances of Little Shop of Horrors by the JW theatre students.

Chamber of Commerce Pancake fees Saturday, March 4th.

The Big 7 League and Mid-East League Seek Merger Administration from the Big 7 and Mid-East Leagues have met and are communicating in regard to a potential merger of these historically successful high school conferences. School representatives seek the merger to improve scheduling logistics, increase academic and extracurricular opportunities, and further elevate the reputations these two tremendous leagues already possess. The Mid-East League, formed in 1948, currently consists of Riley County, Rock Creek, Rossville, Silver Lake, St. Marys, and Wabaunsee, with Rock Creek departing to join the NCKL at the end of the 2023-2024 school year. The Big 7, formed in 1926, currently consists of Hiawatha, Holton, Jefferson West, Nemaha Central, Perry-Lecompton, Riverside, Royal Valley, and Sabetha with Riverside leaving at the end of the 2023-2024 school year. The two leagues will continue to meet independently and collaboratively to work towards a potential merger with the possibility of competition to begin during the 2024-2025 school year.

Congratulations to all our athletes that participated at the 4A regional wrestling tournament today. Three of them are STATE BOUND! Way to go Karson Kahler - 4th place; Keaton Shelman -2nd place; and Osiris Unruh- 4th place!
