Playing and exercising is an easy way to promote health and learning for our kids. Please join us this Saturday for an Open Gym from 8am-10am at the Jeff West Elementary School. All are welcome.

From Head Girls Golf Coach, Darin Lawhorn... Wow! What an ending to an amazing year. These six girls played amazing golf at the State tournament against the best competition. The Lady Tigers finished 4th in the state for the second year in a row. Last year we graduated all 6 of our varsity golfers. So this years six golfers had to be ready to step up to the challenge. I could not be more proud of a group of athletes. They put in an amazing summer of work to be ready for this moment. Leading the way for the Tigers were state medalist Katelin Lohman and Izzy Higgins. Please congratulate Katelin Lohman, Izzy Higgins, Emma Herring, Ryleigh Zitek, Taryn Taylor, and Sydney Sage on remarkable season. Coach Deiter and I are incredibly proud of these girls.

Congratulations to our 7th and 8th grade volleyball teams! They both ended the regular season undefeated and BOTH came home CHAMPIONS at the league tournament today! Strong work ladies! Congratulations to Coach Janelle Harper, Coach Adrianne Carr and Coach Pam Clark on a great season!

No school on Thursday or Friday for USD 340 students. Parent/Teacher Conferences will be held on Thursday, 12Noon-7:30pm. Washburn Tech and Highland Tech will have classes, and busses will run as usual.

USD 340 Parent/Teacher Conferences will be held this week on Wednesday, 3:30-7:30pm, and Thursday, 12Noon-7:30pm. On Wednesday, USD 340, Highland Tech, and Washburn Tech students will all have classes as scheduled. Conferences will begin at the end of the regular school day. On Thursday, USD 340 students will not have classes. However, Highland Tech and Washburn Tech students will have classes as scheduled and busses will run as scheduled. USD 340 Parent/Teacher conferences will be 12Noon-7:30pm. Please contact your child’s respective school if you have any questions.

The State of Kansas each year has school districts nominate one elementary and one secondary teacher to be recognized as a candidate for the Kansas Teacher of the Year Program. These teachers are nominated by their peers and will go through an extensive application process to be considered at the regional and state level. It is always an honor to be selected by your peers as an educator that demonstrates excellence in the classroom and cares deeply about students and their learning. Congratulations to Sara Becker – HS Foreign Language teacher, Secondary Kansas Teacher of the Year candidate.
