From Mark Ralston, 2023 Homecoming Grand Marshall... It was a great honor to be asked to be the Grand Marshal of the 2023 Homecoming Parade. USD 340 Jeff West School District has a warm place in my heart. I taught Art for 40 years at Jefferson West High School as well as serving as a coach and homecoming sponsor for many years. Thank you to Lisa Sage for extending the invitation to participate and Andy and Alexa Surritt for providing the beautiful 1960 Studebaker Lark to ride in.

Tiger Families! If you or someone you know is looking to replace a bed, now is the time! The Jefferson West High School Music Department is excited to announce they will be hosting a one-day Mattress Fundraiser.   How does it work? On the day of the event, we will have a mattress showroom set up for customers to try-out various products. There will be about 25 floor models on display for customers to try.  Name brand beds from Simmons, Wellsville, Therapedic, Tranquility, Malouf and more! All models come in all sizes, are made to order, and come with 5-20 year factory warranty. Pillows, adjustable power bases, sheets, frames, and mattress protectors will also be available. Layaway is available as well as financing with special promotions. Best of all, prices are up to 50% less than suggested retail because of the fundraising company's unique business model. What do you need to do? Every student/family in the program has just one responsibility – find at least ONE person you know who needs to replace a bed in their home and get them committed to coming to the sale. That’s it! Of course, you can refer as many people as you can, and your student will get money in their student account for every customer you refer who buys a mattress and/or adjustable base! Because we understand not everyone will be in the market for a new bed right now, this event relies on heavy promoting to your personal network. We need everyone to find at least one person who needs to replace a bed in their home and ask them to come to the event. One of every 10 adults in the United States will buy a new mattress each year, so you know a lot of people who are planning to do so – you just need to talk to them!

Come to Tiger Stadium tonight and enjoy yourself and support a special fundraising event!

Jefferson County Health Department provides vaccinations including flu shots for children and adults on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. Call 785-403-0025 to schedule an appointment. They accept Medicare Part B, BCBS, United Healthcare, and KanCare insurance.

This Friday, 10/6, is Late Start for USD340. Buses with run 1 hour late, and classes will start 1 hour late. The Washburn Tech bus will run at its normal time.

Our Jefferson West FCCLA is once again selling trash bags from The Yellow Bag company just in time for Fall. The orders are due with money (checks made out to JW FCCLA) by October 20th. They will be ready for pick-up/delivery the first week of November. Funds help to support our students with event registrations, meals, travel expenses, competition registrations, STAR Event supplies, LEO supplies and uniform jackets. On September 27th Jefferson West High School student Jerzi quickly jumped into action to help another student in need. Using her medical training and work experience, she jumped into to assist a fellow student while help arrived. Thank you, Jerzi, for helping others! #HeedTheRoar

Tiger Community! Our Jefferson West FFA Chapter is looking for sponsorships for their Affiliate Membership Program. The program provides an FFA membership to every student enrolled in an Agricultural class. Because of the membership, the chapter isn’t able to collect dues from members, and are asking local businesses if they would be interested in donating to the program and the chapter. Any leftover money would then be used to pay for National Convention, FFA blue jacket grants, and leadership development opportunities. Below is the flier explaining the different divisions of donations and what they include.
